And why do these things always have such stupid names? The word Moodle is actually an acronym for Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment, although originally the M stood for "Martin", named after Martin Dougiamas, the original developer.
Moodle is a Learning Management System, or LMS. Teachers can use it to store resources that form courses and students can then access those course resources. Moodle can do more than just store resources though... it can deliver quizzes, wikis, blogs and links to websites. It can provide forums for discussion. It can offer a range of safe learning facilities to students. |
